The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency or Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH) of the Republic of Indonesia continues to intensify survellance or supervision of products circulating in the community. Head of BPJPH Ahmad Haikal Hasan said that surveillance is carried out daily and involves relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of 'halal order' in the community.
"We continue to carry out surveillance of halal product assurance on a daily basis. This is important to implement, to ensure the implementation of 'halal order'. The goal is to protect the community from products that do not meet halal product assurance standards." said Head of BPJPH, Ahmad Haikal Hasan, in Jakarta, Monday (5/5/2025).
"Through surveillance, BPJPH ensures whether the product meets the applicable halal standards as regulated by regulations, while also ensuring the availability of halal products amidst the supply and demand activities of products in the community." he continued.
The man who is familiarly called Babe Haikal also said that supervision of Halal Product Assurance is a regulatory mandate that must be implemented by BPJPH. Among them, the order of Law Number 33 Year 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance and Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 Year 2022 concerning Job Creation to Become Law. Also, the mandate of Government Regulation Number 42 Year 2024 concerning the Implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Sector.
"It should be understood that this JPH supervision is a form of government presence in ensuring the implementation of 'halal order', the public gets access to the availability of halal products in a guaranteed manner so that they feel safe and comfortable in consuming and using halal products." continued Babe Haikal.
Babe Haikal also invited industry players to welcome this supervision positively. Especially, large industries that with their capacity certainly have a moral responsibility to be an example and partner for micro, small and medium enterprises in halal order. Also, for example, implementing halal certification is not merely a matter of fulfilling regulations, but also as an added value or added value for products so that they are increasingly able to compete in both domestic and global markets, which in turn will encourage business development.
"Let's all make the supervision of halal product assurance a success. Because with orderly halal, we can create a more inclusive and sustainable halal ecosystem, and ultimately will encourage national economic growth," said Babe Haikal.
Deputy for Guidance and Supervision of Halal Product Assurance BPJPH, E.A Chuzaemi Abidin said that the JPH supervision was carried out both by BPJPH itself and in an integrated manner together with related stakeholders. JPH supervision is carried out by targeting strategic locations that are centers of production and product distribution.
"Supervision of Halal Product Assurance is carried out by BPJPH independently or in an integrated manner together with related stakeholders, both ministries, institutions, local governments, JPH Service Task Force, and so on." said Chuzaemi.
"One of the monitoring programs is now being implemented today in 34 provinces, conducted to June 30 together with the provincial and district/city Halal Service Task Forces throughout Indonesia," he continued.
Chuzaemi also appealed to the public to take active role in halal monitoring. Monitoring by the public can be in the form of complaints or reports to BPJPH if they find suspected violations. Anyone can submit reports/complaints via email layanan@halal.go.id if he/she finds suspicious products in circulation or suspected as not meeting applicable regulatory provisions. []
