Jakarta - the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) continues to improve halal certification services. The latest effort was made by updating the Halal Information System or SIHALAL, equipped with guidelines for using SIHALAL for regular and self-declaration halal certification services.

BPJPH Principal Secretary, Muhammad Aqil Irham, said that this system update is part of BPJPH's efforts to continue to improve the halal certification service system.

“BPJPH continues to develop the system with the aim of providing convenience to business actors. This transformative effort is carried out by implementing digitization and automation of linkages between service actors in the service process, which is carried out by prioritizing service principles that are increasingly easy, fast, efficient and accountable.” said Muhammad Aqil Irham in Jakarta, Sunday (23/3/2025).

“This breakthrough is important, because the service system needs to be continuously adapted to technological developments to provide convenience by fulfilling aspects of performance, security, functionality, compatibility, and compliance with regulations,” he added.

The Acting Head of the BPJPH Data and Information Center, Nurhanudin, further explained that this SIHALAL update includes increased ease of access, a more user-friendly interface, a more optimal usage experience, and system security, so that the halal certification process becomes more efficient, fast and secure.

“SIHALAL is developed regularly. One of them is by changing the architecture of the application from monolithic to microservice, so that the application can be accessed more quickly. Also to overcome the occurrence of slow access and time outs in the previous application when accessed by many service users simultaneously.” Nurhanudin said.

“We also apologize to all SIHALAL service users, that when the transformation process was carried out, it caused technical inconvenience in accessing SIHALAL. Currently the application can be used by users after the maintenance process is carried out. And for the need to accelerate process confirmation, we also provide Call Center 146 or email service.halal.go.id,” he continued.

“Furthermore, to make it easier for service users to apply for halal certification after SIHALAL is updated, we provide a guide or manual book for using SIHALAL for regular and self-declaration scheme halal certification. The guide can be downloaded through the bpjph.halal.go.id website.” he added.
