The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) has begun carrying out inclusive, participatory and collaborative cooperation in welcoming the 2024 Halal Certification Obligation by conducting a meeting with the Head of the National Food Agency (BAPANAS) at the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, in Jakarta, Tuesday (05/09/23).
The Head of BPJPH Muhammad Aqil Irham said this visit was to establish friendship and collaborative work in welcoming the halal certification obligation.
"We are here in full team, we have brought all our leaders, the aim is to inform you that in accordance with the mandate of the Law number 33 of 2014 as well as the Law number 6 of 2023, all food products, baverages, slaughter products and slaughter services, raw materials, food additives and auxiliary materials for food products and drinks (must be halal certified). That's why we want to come, and what collaborative programs we can carry out, because halal is closely related to food safety," said Aqil.
The Head of the National Food Agency, Arief Prasetyo Adi, said that in the future it is necessary to attach halal to every program that will be created, both socialization and on-the-spot services.
"We, the National Food Agency, have an extension in regions throughout Indonesia through the Food Service, as well as associations with fresh food products such as chicken, vegetables, fruit and meat. In the future, we will try to comb through related programs, so that apart from talking about the safe aspect, later we just need to add the halal aspect, so that later we can collaborate on on-the-spot registration in markets," explained Arief.
As additional information, the National Food Agency is an authority that is directly responsible to the President, which was previously called the Food Security Agency which has the task of maintaining and controlling food security, as well as fulfilling food nutritional requirements.
