Jakarta (BPJPH) --- BPJPH of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) are collaborating in implementing the acceleration of free halal certification. This effort is carried out in the form of a free halal certification service through the Sehati program for MSEs who are BRI People's Business Credit (KUR) customers.
"In order to encourage the acceleration of free halal certification in 8 provinces, BPJPH and BRI work together to carry out a pilot project for free halal certification services which as of July 10 we will start from DKI Jakarta province." said Head of BPJPH Muhammad Aqil Irham, in Jakarta, Sunday (9/7/2023).
The free halal certification service, continued Aqil, is given to MSEs who meet the criteria for halal certification through a business actor's statement or self-declare. The implementation of halal certification for MSEs will later become part of the Sehati program or free halal certification in 2023 which has been rolled out by BPJPH since the beginning of the year.
"Our first phase will start on July 10 2023 in DKI Jakarta province. Thus we invite MSEs especially those in the Jakarta province, to apply for a free halal certificate through the service that opens in 10 KUA offices in Jakarta on Monday, 10th July 2023, at 10.00 to 15.00." said Aqil.
"To MSEs, please take advantage of this service to register their products so they can be given a free halal certificate." continued Aqil appealed.
Aqil also appealed to MSEs to prepare a number of administrative requirements. Among them are ID cards, Business Identification Numbers (NIB), names and types of products to be submitted for halal certification.
"After DKI Jakarta, we will continue this program in other provinces; West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Banten, Lampung and West Sumatra." he explained.

"For MSEs who have previously received halal certification, I also hope they will join in and educate MSEs who are not yet halal-certified, to immediately take care of their product's halal certificate." said Aqil.
